AIA Jacksonville’s Design Awards program recognizes AIA members who encourage excellence in architecture, elevate public awareness for good design and advocate effectively for the built environment.
Earning a Design Award from AIA Jacksonville’s symbolizes work that has significantly contributed to the advancement of design and the betterment of the human condition.

DESIGN AWARDS
Projects selected for recognition by the Jury will receive an “Award of Excellence” or “Award of Merit” at the discretion of the jury, with the Award of Excellence being reserved for the most deserving.
DESIGN AWARDS CATEGORIES
- Built Projects: Projects must have been completed, or substantially completed, between January 2021 and May 2026.
- Commercial: This sub-category recognizes built projects of all types that are non-residential in nature.
- Residential: This sub-category recognizes built projects of all types that are residential in nature, both single family and multi-family.
- Unbuilt Projects: Projects must have been designed or crafted since January 2021 by AIA members, firms, or emerging professionals. Eligibility includes projects not built at this time or those which may never be built.
- Commercial: This sub-category recognizes unbuilt projects of all types that are non-residential in nature.
- Residential: This sub-category recognizes unbuilt projects of all types that are residential in nature, both single family and multi-family.
Eligibility: An architectural project designed by a member of the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, regardless of project location, shall be eligible to be submitted for an award as long as the design occurred within the Chapter office and was substantially completed during the five previous calendar years. No project previously receiving a Jacksonville Chapter Award is eligible.

ARCHITECTURE STUDENT DESIGN AWARD:
AIA Jacksonville is committed to encouraging the study of architecture and developing the next generation of design professionals. Toward that end, students of architecture are invited to submit a favorite academic work for review by AIA Jacksonville's Design Awards juror. Criteria is below:
- Student must be actively enrolled in an accredited school of architecture at the time of registration.
- Student must be an active Associate Member of AIA or AIAS in good standing at the time of registration.
- One submission per student representing one project only.
- Work performed professionally or in a non-academic setting is not eligible.
- Juror will establish standards for recognition and whether any work meets the standard.
Entry Fee: Each entry is $50.

Submission Deadline: JULY 15, 2026

The Mellen C. Greeley Foundation is honored to provide a scholarship award to the recipient(s) of the AIA Jacksonville Architecture Student Design Award to support their continued architectural education and professional development.
Mellen C Greeley was a local Jacksonville architect, and the Foundation supports aspiring architects and appreciation of architecture.
