Led by Jacksonville historian, journalist, and broadcaster Shelton Hull, this guided walking tour explores the architectural, historical, and cultural significance of Jacksonville's Riverside neighborhood. Beginning at Memorial Park, participants will walk approximately 1.5 miles through one of the city's most historically significant districts. The tour will examine the neighborhood's development patterns, architectural styles, notable residences, historic preservation efforts, and the social and economic factors that shaped its evolution. Through on-site observation and discussion, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how architecture and urban planning contribute to community identity and the long-term stewardship of historic neighborhoods.
